Connecting Rapid7 to Seemplicity using API

In this article, we will provide a step-by-step guide on how to set up this integration.

Step 1: Obtain the Server URL, Username, and Password for your Rapid7 account.

  1. The Server URL is the URL and port of your Rapid7 account, for example, https://ip_address:port.

  2. The username must be a user with the role 'Global Administrator' and should have access to relevant Sites and Groups.

  3. It is recommended to use a user with a password that won't expire to prevent permission issues in the future.

  4. You can view your user at Rapid7 platform --> Administration --> Users --> Manage.

Step 2: Enter the Information into Seemplicity

  1. Open the Seemplicity platform and navigate to "Settings" -> "Data Sources" -> "All Data Sources".

  2. Choose Rapid7 and click on "Integrate"

  3. Enter the following information:

    • Name: Enter a name for the Rapid7 instance.

    • User: Enter the Rapid7 username.

    • Password: Enter the Rapid7 password.

    • Host: Enter the Rapid7 host.

    • Port: Enter the Rapid7 port

  4. Save the changes.
